Hereby a number of things to do in the region.

Alkmaar is above all Holland's cheese town. During the season from the first Friday of April
to the first Friday of September a traditional cheese market is being held here on Friday mornings
between 10 and 12.30. But this city has a lot more to offer. How about a visit to the Beer museum,
the municipal museum, the big church, a city walk that leads you by courts of almshouses
and more than 400 monuments or a canal tour by boat? There is something to do for everyone in Alkmaar!

The City of Amsterdam has plenty of interesting musea, churches, monumental buildings, shopping streets and markets. There is something for everyone! Pay a visit to the world famous Amsterdam canals, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museum, the Anne Frank House, the Artis Royal Zoo or the Hermitage. Stroll around the inner courtyards (hofjes) or visit one of the smaller musea, there are over 50 of them!

Bergen and Bergen aan Zee

In the first weekend of September, both Bergen and Bergen aan Zee are used to close
the summer season with Jazz & Sail, a music-and-sail-happening. This year, the 38th edition
of this free festival takes place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of September.

The Kunst10daagse (10 days of Art) in Bergen takes place from Friday the 20th till Sunday the 29th of October 2017. During 10 days, more than 265 of artists exhibit their work in shopwindows, restaurants, cafés, hotels, galeries or open their personal studios for the public.

Egmond aan Zee

The Jan van Speyck lighthouse has a prominent position on Egmond's boulevard. During the months of July and August, it is possible to pay a visit to the lighthouse and the boathouse each Friday evening. You can purchase your tickets at the boathouse of the KNRM (the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution).
